Access Statement for Twice Brewed Inn

Introduction

The Twice Brewed is a country Inn providing a warm welcome, real ales, fine wines and beers from around the world and excellent home cooked food. All this is accessible on the ground floor. We also have 14 bedrooms on the first floor.

Pre-Arrival

  • Public Transport. Train to Bardon Mill 2.75m. Haltwhistle 5m.
    Bus all accessible
    (winter) (No 681) minimal service to Twice Brewed mon-sat
    (summer - March to end Oct) daily (Nos 681, 185, AD122) full service to Inn

    Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Free car park for up to 50 cars
  • One space can be reserved which allows access directly to ramp and front door of Inn.
  • Assistance is available to all guests.
  • There is a drop off point approx 14m from entrance.
  • From the reserved point to the entrance the surface is paved, the rest of the car park is gravel.
  • There is a dropped kerb.
  • There is rear access to parked cars if parked correctly.
  • There is a speed bump on entry/exit to car park.
  • Access is available all day and evening. Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

  • Main entrance is via the porch and bar as previously described, this leads through to reception which is also the internet cafe area.
  • Pad and pen available on arrival.
  • With prior notice we have a member of staff with level one BSL.
  • Music can be turned down/off on request.
  • Lighting in internet/reception is good overhead strip lighting.
  • Reception desk 46" alternative table available in dining room at standard 29". Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

  • Ground floor;- the entrance porch has ceramic tiles, the bar carpeted, the internet cafe carpeted, the dining room is parquet flooring the whole of the ground floor is accessible with a minimum of 3 foot doors but mainly double doors.
  • Corridor to the WC - narrowest point in doorway 88cm.
  • No steps throughout the ground floor.
  • Lighting fairly subdued throughout bar and dining room. Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

  • Bedrooms are all situated on the first floor
  • The staircase has 13 steps and is 34 wide, the door at the bottom of the stairs is 28 wide.
  • The bedrooms are all carpeted and the bathrooms vinyl flooring.
  • There are no adapted bedrooms at this present moment.
  • The lighting upstairs meets tourist board recommendations.
  • The internet cafe - this room is carpeted and well lit with overhead strip lighting , there is a large adjustable table available which will accommodate wheelchair users. Public WCs

  • The public WC is located off the bar.
  • The area is carpeted.
  • There is a slight ramp up to the WC.(carpeted).
  • The surface area is 234 x 190cm
  • The floor is ceramic tiles.
  • Door - wooden fire door 3foot wide.
  • Support rails white both horizontal and vertical to the left of the wc.
  • Basin mixer tap lever style. Support rails both horizontal and vertical to the right as you face the sink.
  • There are baby changing facilities in the room.
  • There are 4 double coat hooks on the door. Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe

  • The restaurant has parquet flooring.
  • All tables and chairs are flexible and can be arranged to suit.
  • The lighting is subdued.
  • The menu is available in large font. Additional Information

  • Staff are trained to be aware of any extra precautions that must be taken in the event of an emergency.
  • One member of staff has BSL level 1pass and level 2 ongoing, with notice this person will be available to assist.
  • Guide dogs are welcome and all needs catered for.
  • This building is non smoking throughout.
  • Background music can be switched off on request.
  • All staff are trained and aware of additional needs.

    Future Plans
